Candide Thovex is an almost mythical creature, a true anomaly in skiing. A bad ass freak of nature…plain and simple. Not only is this Frenchman incredible, but his video edits genius. This movie is art, exemplified by sport.

Candide is an in bounds park shredder and X Games dominator, who evolved into a crazy epic park builder and uniter of the sport’s elite. After a devastating injury on just about the only thing that could hurt him – a ridiculous jump that HE built – Candide turned into a Yeti and just kind of disappeared. Doctors told him he probably wouldn’t ski again, but he reinvented himself as a big mountain backcountry free skier and, eventually, a World Freeride Champion.

Regardless of the venue, Candide is, above all else, a full-time innovator. He is an entrepreneur and film maker. His unique combination of power, style, grace and imagination allow him to adapt to his surroundings as if he designed them as a huge terrain park perfectly for himself. His skiing is, quite simply, beautiful.
